FOUNDING CHEF & OWNER
New Orleans born Bridget Meagher is a pioneer of upscale dining in the South. After studies in Europe, travels in Central and South America and culinary education in New Orleans and New York, she moved to Virginia where she founded Alexander’s, the first woman-owned contemporary cuisine restaurant in Virginia. In her career spanning decades, Bridget has served thousands of customers, catered numerous high profile events, and garnered many awards for the restaurant. Bridget and her husband, Hugh Alexander, live on their Catbird Hill farm where they grow herbs, vegetables and fruit for Alexander's and for her new sauce brand, CATBIRD.
In her downtime, Bridget has hiked to Machu Picchu, the Grand Canyon, and cruised icebergs in Patagonia. She's foraged for porcini in Tuscany, for wild fennel in Sicily, and dined her way across Mexico and Europe.
Boni Webb CULINARY EXECUTIVE & GENERAL MANAGER
A native of Kanagawa-Ken, Japan, Boni grew up in Hawaii before moving to Roanoke with her family. Boni’s expertise is in all things Asian, particularly the authentic cuisine of her native Japan where her family has been restaurateurs for generations. She is also an accomplished western cuisine chef and pastry chef. Above all, Boni has brought an unparalleled level of refined service to our dining room and beverage program. In her free time, Boni has completed four marathons and five triathlons and can be found working out most mornings at the Roanoke Athletic Club.
Shawn Gearhart CHEF DE CUISINE
Our Salem, VA native, Shawn, received his culinary degree from Johnson & Wales in Charleston SC and has worked in a variety of properties in SC, Tennessee, and Virginia. Shawn is a master line chef and is highly accomplished in garde manger. He brings a multitude of talents to the Alexander’s kitchen and is admired for his culinary precision and professionalism. Shawn, his wife Kelly, and their three adorable and energetic daughters live in the Grandin Road area of Roanoke.
Daniel Robinson SOUS CHEF
Daniel is a highly accomplished saute chef and has manned the Alexander’s line for many years producing some of the best seafood appetizers and entrees around. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and brings his communications and technical expertise to our restaurant operation. He is also arguably our leading humorist (a lot of competition here) and can be depended on to procure the funniest and most apt greeting cards for our crew.
Bjorn manages the day to day of the dining room. He came to Alexander’s after training in service at the Inn at Little Washington and has distinguished himself as a highly professional Front of the House guy and service leader in cocktail mixology, beer, and wine service. He is a multiple service award winner. When he's not charming our guests tableside, he can be found playing trivia with his team or hiking and cruising the scenic backroads of SW Virginia.
